Workshop is a part of 2017 Bazaar Festival.

By looking at examples of larger arts institutions actually involved in direct social and political engagement, this workshop explores:

• How independents and institutions can work together
• How to research possibilities for direct activism
• How to put to use the large audience potential of institutions as a relevant performance space for initiating public debate
• How to analyze our own agency and prioritize
• What are the main challenges to such work and how to overcome them?

This two-day workshop is designed primarily for dramaturgs, curators, artistic directors and directors as well as theatre and dance performance creators and interested members of the general public from the Czech Republic and other Central and Eastern Europe countries.

The workshop will be held in English by Goran Injac, currently artistic director of the dynamic and provocative Mladinsko Theatre in Ljubljana, Slovenia, but also independent performing arts curator and dramaturg, university lecturer and researcher.

Goran Injac has cooperated as a freelance curator with different international theatre and art festivals, institutes, repertory theatres and independent theatre companies. As a dramaturg he works with theatre director Oliver Frljić in Poland, Slovenia, and Serbia and since October 2014 he has been the artistic director of the Mladinsko Theatre in Ljubljana, Slovenia. He is one of the creators and curators of East European Performing Arts Platform (EEPAP). In 2012/2014 he curated International Projects and Side Programme in the National Stary Theatre, Cracow, Poland. He is also the author of numerous articles, critiques and essays in Polish, Serbian, Slovene and international theatre and art journals.
